โWe are greateful to the Dolomites. Theyโve always been a source of inspiration and solace with their unparalleled beauty. Our long journey has led us to this awareness. We will always be proud of it.
We have walked together.โ
Karpos was started 10 years ago in the spirit of research. It grew from the wish to make everyoneโs outdoor experience more complete, from the need to get to the summit and enjoy the 360ยฐ view.
This brandโs success comes from having sought out and found people who share their values of passion and professionalism. They are knowledgeable when faced with new challenges and enthusiastic about projects that drive them forwards. Every day, this strong, engaged and enthusiastic team fulfill their love of the mountains with their work.
Having the good fortune to make your passion your work is certainly one of the secrets of the companyโs success.
Karpos was inspired from a dream. A dream of travels, thousands of rockwalls – sometimes unconquered โ sandstone, granite, snow-capped peaks, new climbing routes and long hikes. Karpos products are designed by people who understand the commitment it takes to make this dream real, they are high-quality products developed by experienced mountaineers.
Sheer passion inspired a small team to develop high-quality outdoor clothing that stands out because of its reliability and durability. Continuous experimentation on fabrics and cutting-edge technologies, have led Karpos to become an innovator in its field.
This small company based in the foothills of the Dolomites now competes with historic brands. Karpos is the most award-winning brand in the industry – a match for the German and American giants.
The company continues to grow with the passion and dedication of its staff. In the last ten years, new experts have joined the team and have contributed more specific experience to the project.
Karpos is closely connected with the mountains. Their aim, though, is not just about conquering summits, but about sharing the mountain experience with nature lovers and supporting hikers, bikers and climbers in their adventures.
Reliable, durable and trailblazing outdoor clothing and equipment for professionals and enthusiasts alike.
Ferrino has always supported those who promote new types of sustainable and eco-friendly tourism.
Tents, sleeping bags, rucksacks, clothes and equipment – Ferrino offers a wide range of products. And itโs the oldest Italian company for the outdoors.
Founded in 1870 in Turin, today Ferrino has around sixty employees and is still managed by the same families – Ferrino and Rabajoli.
The companyโs aim, which has been continually pursued by the last five generations, is to create outdoor clothing and gear for professionals and enthusiasts, thatโs trustworthy, hard-wearing and cutting edge. Passion, daring and creativity are the elements that drive Ferrino to innovate, to create new, leading-edge technologies that can deal with any weather.
The company modestly works alongside professionals, athletes and explorers to support them in their endeavours.
But this collaboration begins much earlier, at the start of the design process. This is when athletes and ambassadors become the true consultants for the company’s Research and Development Team, i.e. the brains behind Ferrinoโs innovative designs and their most demanding challenges. The result of this process is the design of unique products that meet specific and tangible requirements.
The company’s focus and vision evolved from this concept to reach a key objective: to move beyond design and constantly widen their own horizons. This confirms the brand as a global reference point for enthusiasts who are looking for the right performance at the right price.
Ferrino aims to enter the lives of nature adventure lovers, promote respect for the environment and for human beings. The company is currently active in several nature conservation projects promoted by EOCA (European Outdoor Conservation Association). And additionally Ferrino sponsors T.Res, a project which promotes ethical travel that respects the land and the customs of its inhabitants since 2006.
We donโt think of the people who buy our products as consumers. We view them as knowledgeable users of practical, original products. These are ethically manufactured products โ products with tangible value that are made to last. We can all do something to build stronger communities, to protect the environment โ to have a better future.
AKU is an Italian enterprise with artisan origins. Founded by Galliano Bordin more than thirty years ago, AKU designs and manufactures high-quality shoes for mountaineering, hunting, military and casual wear. Every model in the collection, from mountaineering to active leisure wear, is the result of genuine dedication, rooted in Italy’s distinguished manufacturing tradition.
The companyโs research on new technologies as well as the design and production of its top range models remain at the Montebelluna factory, in the Treviso Province and in Italyโs historic sports footwear district. AKU has a second manufacturing plant in Cluj Napoca, Romania and has recently opened a third one in Simanovci, Serbia. Parts that make up the AKU models are produced in these locations.
The company operates on a global scale and covers over thirty markets in Europe, Asia and North America.
AKUโs refined, exclusive designs have won the recognition of the company as an undisputed leader in fit and comfort even for their most technical items. AKU is theย Italian specialist in trekking footwear.
The people who live and work in the mountains, as well as nature lovers more generally, have been the inspiration behind AKUโs manufacturing. In fact, many of the people who wear AKU footwear are farmers, lumberjacks and shepherds and not only hiking, trekking and mountaineering enthusiasts.
Taking care of nature and of the places where their footwear is used is a responsibility that AKU takes on wholeheartedly and a commitment that stems from the Companyโs background and inspiration. AKU uses manufacturing methods that have minimal impact on the environment, while providing maximum transparency about product origins. To support this, in 2018, AKU became the first company in the footwear sector to calculate, declare and certify their environmental impact for one of their products, the Bellamont Plus. The information resulting from these environmental impact calculations highlighted the most impacting areas and led to the assessment of new ways of reducing the manufacturing footprint on the environment.
The results of the study, which was carried out using the International EPDยฎ System, are available on the www.environdec.com website.
